Events & Activities — Terms and Conditions
Last updated: October 2026
These Terms and Conditions apply to events and activities organised by Ethics Forum International (EFI) and its initiatives, including the Academy of Ethicality.
They should be read alongside any additional terms provided on individual event or activity registration pages.
1. Scope
These Terms and Conditions apply to EFI events and activities, including Global Ethics Dialogues, workshops, webinars, educational sessions and other online or in-person activities.
Activities may be offered free of charge or require payment. Some activities may be open to everyone, while others may be restricted to registered participants or EFI members.
Individual activities may have additional conditions concerning eligibility, registration, participation, fees, cancellations or access.
2. Registration and Participation
Participants are responsible for providing accurate information when registering.
Registration is subject to any eligibility requirements, participation limits or additional conditions specified for the activity.
Where places are limited, registration may close once capacity is reached.
Registration for one activity does not automatically provide access to other EFI activities or resources.
3. Fees and Payments
Where an activity requires payment, the applicable fee will be displayed on its registration page.
Fees may vary according to the activity, membership status or other eligibility criteria.
Any discounts or preferential rates will be subject to the conditions stated at registration.
Payment must be completed according to the instructions provided for the relevant activity.
4. Participant Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellation and refund arrangements may vary between activities.
The applicable conditions will be stated on the individual activity or registration page.
Where an activity is described as non-refundable, this condition applies subject to any mandatory rights available under applicable law.
Participants are encouraged to review the relevant cancellation conditions before completing a paid registration.
5. Changes, Rescheduling and Cancellation by EFI
EFI may occasionally need to change an activity’s date, time, presenter, format or other arrangements.
Where reasonably practicable, registered participants will be informed of significant changes.
If an activity is rescheduled, existing registrations will ordinarily be transferred to the new date.
If EFI cancels a paid activity without providing a suitable alternative, participants will receive a refund of the relevant registration fee.
Any additional arrangements will be communicated to affected participants.
6. Participation and Conduct
EFI activities are intended to encourage respectful dialogue, learning, reflection and constructive engagement.
Participants are expected to engage respectfully with presenters, facilitators and other participants.
EFI may restrict or terminate participation where behaviour is seriously disruptive, discriminatory, threatening or otherwise inconsistent with the purpose and integrity of the activity.
7. Recordings and Access
Some EFI activities may be recorded.
Where recording is planned, participants will be informed through the activity information, registration process or at the beginning of the session, as appropriate.
Recordings may be made available through EFI membership benefits, educational resources, subscription services or other arrangements specified for the activity.
Free participation in a live activity does not automatically include free access to its recording.
Participants must not independently record, reproduce or distribute activity content without appropriate permission.
8. Educational Materials and Intellectual Property
Presentations, recordings, workbooks and other materials provided through EFI activities remain the intellectual property of their respective creators or rights holders.
Unless otherwise specified, materials are provided for participants’ personal learning and professional development.
Materials must not be reproduced, redistributed, commercially exploited or presented as the participant’s own work without appropriate permission.
9. Certificates and Recognition
Some activities may provide certificates of attendance, completion or participation.
Where applicable, eligibility requirements will be stated in the relevant activity information.
Participation in an EFI activity may contribute towards EFI Ethics & Ethicality Recognition where it meets the requirements of the relevant Recognition Framework.
Participation does not automatically confer EFI Recognition.
10. Privacy and Personal Information
Personal information collected during registration and participation will be handled in accordance with the EFI Privacy Policy and applicable data protection requirements.
Information may be used to administer registrations, communicate activity details, provide access to relevant resources and fulfil associated administrative requirements.
Additional information about recordings or the processing of personal information may be provided for particular activities.
11. Relationship to Other EFI Terms
These Terms and Conditions establish general arrangements for EFI events and activities.
Additional conditions published for a particular activity form part of its registration arrangements. Where specific conditions differ from these general terms, the activity-specific conditions will ordinarily apply, subject to applicable law.
EFI membership and EFI Ethics & Ethicality Recognition are governed by their respective Terms and Conditions.
12. Applicable Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by applicable French law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection or other legal rights that may apply.
