Membership Basics
1. What does membership of Ethics Forum International provide?
Membership connects individuals and organisations to the EFI global dialogue network exploring ethics, leadership, and responsible professional practice.
Members participate in EFI Global Ethics Dialogue sessions, have access to the EFI Library, and receive preferential access and rates for selected EFI initiatives.
2. Does membership include certification or accreditation?
No. Membership provides professional affiliation with Ethics Forum International but does not constitute certification, accreditation, or formal recognition within EFI’s recognition pathways.
3. How long does membership last?
Membership is valid for 12 months from the date of joining and renews annually unless cancelled.
Members receive advance notification prior to renewal.
4. Are membership fees refundable?
Membership fees are non-refundable once membership has been activated.
5. Can individuals progress within membership?
Yes. Associates who maintain continuous membership may become eligible for the Senior Associate designation after the required period of continuous membership.
Organisational Memberships
6. How do organisational memberships work?
Practice, Institutional, and Corporate memberships include a defined number of nominated participants.
Organisations nominate individuals who participate in EFI dialogues and access membership benefits under the organisational membership.
7. Can organisations change their nominated participants?
Nominated participants may be updated at renewal.
Changes during the membership period may be considered in exceptional circumstances.
8. What happens if a nominated participant leaves the organisation?
The organisation may request a replacement. Changes typically take place at renewal unless exceptional circumstances apply.
Events and Participation
9. Do members receive access to all EFI events?
Membership includes participation in EFI Global Ethics Dialogue sessions and access to the EFI Library of recordings.
Some EFI events, such as conferences or summits, may require separate registration or additional fees.
10. Can members or organisations propose dialogue topics?
Yes. Members and organisations may propose topics or perspectives for future EFI dialogue sessions. Dialogue programmes are curated by EFI.
11. How often are EFI Global Ethics Dialogues held?
EFI schedules a series of Global Ethics Dialogue sessions each year. The number and timing may vary as the programme develops.
Membership Designation and Visibility
12. Can I use the EFI membership badge and designation publicly?
Yes. Members may display their EFI membership designation and associated badge in professional materials such as email signatures, websites, LinkedIn profiles, and professional biographies while membership is active.
Designations must accurately reflect the member’s current membership category and may not imply certification, accreditation, or endorsement unless formally granted through EFI recognition pathways.
13. Can organisations use the EFI name publicly?
Yes. Organisations may identify themselves using their membership designation (e.g. Practice Affiliate, Institutional Member, or Corporate Member of Ethics Forum International).
Membership must not be presented as endorsement, certification, or accreditation unless formally granted through EFI recognition pathways.
Governance and Administration
14. Does membership provide governance rights in EFI?
No. Membership provides participation in the EFI dialogue network but does not confer governance authority within the organisation.
15. How are membership fees paid?
Membership fees are paid online through the EFI membership system as part of an automated annual subscription.
Members receive a confirmation and downloadable receipt upon payment.
