Scope

These Terms and Conditions (T&C) govern membership of Ethics Forum International (EFI) and participation in EFI membership activities and benefits. By registering for membership or using EFI membership services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Ethics Forum International (EFI) operates under the Association for Ethics in Coaching (AETHIC), a registered 1901 not-for-profit association based in France.

EFI convenes global dialogue and recognition around ethics and ethicality in professional practice.

1. Membership Overview

Membership of Ethics Forum International (EFI) provides affiliation with a global, cross-domain dialogue platform exploring ethics, ethicality, leadership, and responsible professional practice.

Membership connects individuals and organisations to the EFI dialogue network and provides access to a range of member benefits across EFI initiatives, including dialogues, resources, and preferential access to selected offerings.

Membership does not constitute professional certification, accreditation, or recognition status within EFI’s recognition pathways.

2. Membership Categories

EFI offers the following membership categories:

• EFI Associate (AssocEFI)
• EFI Senior Associate (SAEFI)
• EFI Practice Affiliate
• EFI Institution Member
• EFI Corporate Member

EFI Senior Associate is available to Associates following three consecutive years of Associate membership.

EFI Practice Affiliate, EFI Institution Member, and EFI Corporate Member memberships include nominated participants, with the number of participants associated with each category published on the EFI website.

Each membership category provides access to the benefits outlined on the EFI website.

3. Membership Duration and Renewal

Membership is valid for 12 months from the date of joining and renews automatically on an annual basis unless cancelled.

Members will receive advance notification prior to renewal.

Membership benefits remain active only while membership is current.

4. Membership Fees and Payment

Membership fees are payable annually and are published on the EFI website.

EFI may offer preferential or discounted membership rates to eligible individuals or organisations. Eligibility, availability, and conditions associated with such rates are determined by EFI and may vary from time to time.

Membership is managed through an automated online subscription system. Payment is processed at the time of registration and renews automatically unless cancelled prior to renewal.

Members receive a payment confirmation and downloadable receipt upon successful payment.

Alternative payment arrangements (such as bank transfer) may be available for Institutional or Corporate memberships by prior arrangement with EFI.

Membership fees are non-refundable once membership has been activated.

5. Societal Contribution

EFI may allocate a proportion of revenue received from eligible full-price memberships to support organisations or causes contributing to wider societal wellbeing.

The applicable contribution, eligibility conditions, and organisations supported will be communicated through the EFI website.

Memberships purchased using a volunteer or other preferential discount do not contribute to this allocation unless expressly stated otherwise.

Where EFI invites members to participate in determining the allocation of these funds, participation is limited to members whose eligible full-price membership contributes to the allocation.

Each eligible membership carries one vote. Organisational memberships that include multiple nominated participant places carry one vote per membership, not one vote per nominated participant.

Participation in decisions concerning EFI’s societal contribution does not constitute or confer governance authority within EFI or AETHIC.

6. Organisational Memberships

EFI Practice Affiliate, EFI Institution Member, and EFI Corporate Member memberships include a defined number of nominated participants.

Organisations nominate individuals who will participate in EFI activities and access membership benefits under the organisational membership.

Nominated participants may be updated at the point of renewal.

Changes during the membership period may be considered in exceptional circumstances at EFI’s discretion.

7. Participation and Access

Membership provides access to benefits associated with the relevant membership category, as published on the EFI website. These may include:

• priority or member access to EFI Dialogues;
• access to selected EFI resources, recordings, and the EFI Library;
• member communications and opportunities for contribution and engagement;
• access to selected benefits across the wider Ethics & Ethicality Ecosystem; and
• preferential access or rates for selected programmes, events, recognition pathways, and other offerings.

Some EFI events, programmes, resources, or services may require separate registration or additional fees.

Places at some EFI activities are intentionally limited, and membership does not guarantee participation where capacity is restricted.

8. Use of Membership Designations and Badges

Members may display their current EFI membership designation and associated badge in professional materials, including email signatures, websites, and professional profiles.

Designations and badges must accurately reflect the member’s current membership category.

The following designations apply:

• EFI Associate (AssocEFI)
• EFI Senior Associate (SAEFI)
• EFI Practice Affiliate
• EFI Institution Member
• EFI Corporate Member

Membership designations and badges may not be used to imply certification, accreditation, endorsement, or EFI Ethics & Ethicality Recognition unless such status has been separately and formally granted.

Use of EFI designations and badges must cease if membership is no longer active.

9. Member Conduct

EFI seeks to cultivate thoughtful, respectful, and engaged dialogue across professions and perspectives.

Members are expected to participate in EFI activities in a manner consistent with professional respect, openness, and constructive engagement.

EFI reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership where participation is considered inconsistent with the values and purpose of the organisation.

10. Changes to Membership Structure

EFI reserves the right to update its membership categories, structures, benefits, eligibility conditions, preferential or discounted arrangements, and membership fees as the organisation evolves.

Any material changes affecting an existing member’s subsequent membership period will be communicated in advance of renewal.

Changes to membership fees will apply from the member’s next renewal unless otherwise expressly stated.

EFI may introduce, amend, or discontinue particular membership benefits, activities, resources, or preferential arrangements from time to time. Where practicable, EFI will communicate material changes affecting current members in advance.

Membership fees already paid remain non-refundable in the event of voluntary withdrawal or termination of membership in accordance with these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France.

Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of France.
